Kaizoku Fansubs / Forums

Kaizoku-Fansubs has been around for pretty long, and the group has seen the coming and going of many staff members. Quite a while before I even thought about joining K-F, a little project was brewing: a re-release of episodes 1-10.

You see, those first ten episodes were done when the group was brand new and lacking in members, so they were released in conjunction with another group, Aku-Pixel. Hong Kong DVDs were used, as well as a joint staff not thinking too hard about things like convention, and not worrying about the fact that the translator was actually translating from Chinese to English.

A long time has passed since then. Aiming to improve the quality of our subtitles for these first few episodes, our staff retranslated those episodes, hoping to use a DVD source and improve the video quality as well. However, for a long time the new scripts just sat there...

Until now. With renewed interest and effort, I am proud to say that the re-releases are now becoming a reality. I retranslated the opening and ending songs, along with better raws (such as a textless opening) and the new scripts. We used our new logo. We even updated the retranslated scripts to match convention differences between when they were redone and now. It was certainly fun and exciting. You might find it interesting to compare the original and new versions side by side.

But don't worry! We are still working hard on 267+, and this is not slowing us down. We will gradually be fine-tuning and releasing up through episode 10, alongside the newer episodes.

Our encoder will be out of town for a few days this week, so until we can get 267 finished, I hope you all enjoy the first installment of this little project!
